I think I may owe anglers an apology, I've been exhorting the Nice Weather Lady all last month to send some rain and now she has done so in copious amounts, so thank you Emily for the very nice rain but we've had enough now!

I think we owe a vote of thanks to the Nice Weather Lady who has sent us copious amounts of rain with a gale of wind to "get rid of" all the *******! leaves. Well done Emily.

I am most surprised that anglers who fish the River Camel are not posting their comments on this site, possibly becuase they are aware that it exists. Perhaps an article in the "Trout and Salmon" magazine would give it more publicity along with more regular up to date reports andother information.

During the past week at Tresarrett in high water, Eric Whale and Steven Brown both from Coventry had salmon of 7lbs and 8lbs respectively on worm, both fish were returned. Eric also lost a large fresh fish on Thursday 5th November using a rapala. During their week at Tresarrett they saw a few fish moving in the high water.

Fresh grilse taken by Jim Brown in very low water at Tresarrett on Sunday 17th October followed by a fish of 7lbs caught by Pete Johnson (aged 87) on Thursday) 22nd October ( fish) returned.. A short spell of rain caused a rise of about one foot on Monday/Tuesday 19/20 October but did little to improve amount of fish in the Blisland area.
May I compliment you on your Webcam and water gauge it should prove most helpful to those of us who have to trave quite a distance to fish the River Camel.

Could I ask all anglers to pray to the deity of their choice for some RAIN before the river dries up or perhaps we can arrange a cricket match that sometimes works!

Recent rain insufficient to raise river more than a few inches, but it did liven up matters and bring in a few more fresh fish.
Brian Lown had 5 upto 7 lbs, of which 4 returned.Yesterday(10th Oct) Keith Hamson took a fresh grilse of 6 lbs on worm.

AT LAST, today I caught my first fin clipped grilse, a fresh 5lb fish, this is more proof the hatchery work done by a few is paying off for all anglers.

Still no real rain and river now on low summer level. Afew frsh grilse came up on recent spring tides, and 4 taken of which 3 returned.

Still no rain, though a few salmon crept into the lower river over the high spring tides, and Mike Laughlin had 4 best approx 14 lbs, 3 of which were returned. Salmon reported jumping in the estuary so there should be a bit more sport after the next decent rains.

River slowly dropping as this dry spell continues. Allan Lawrence caught and returned a sealiced hen grilse of approx 5 lbs on the afternoon of 11th September, and saw several other running fish.The dog otter also seen.

I notice that there are no reports enteredby the administrator for this site since Septemeber, nor are there any reports in the last three issue of the Trout and Salmon for the rivers in Cornwall. Is everything O.K?

It is marvellous to sit at my computer in Coventry 230 miles from the River Camel and being not only able to see the - real time - state of the River, but also actually see if it is rising or falling. The prayers that you asked for seemed to have certainly worked for this week (starting 1st November) now the real fishing should really start.

Excellent facility, but how frustrating, I'm sitting here working and see from the gauge that the river is dropping to optimum fishing height and I can't go!

Excellent web cam, this is going to be a great asset to all anglers especially those who do not live close to the river, now a few clicks on the mouse and it is there to see.

Very good Web cam well done, a question tho, with the height gauge, is 0 at Summer low river level? as it looks as if there is a gap from zero to the actual level, obviously only noticed this on the first day as the river was low, the only reason I ask is to try and calibrate your gauge level to my markers, once again thanks for providing such a handy and interesting Cam.

I'm very impressed with the Camel cam a most excellent resource for the anglers on the whole of the river Camel WELL DONE.
Now all we need is a few more fish to catch.
